Handle wet hair carefully is one of the 13 routine tips from a hair care expert

When it comes to hair care, most of us just don't have the time or patience to do all the research needed to figure out what works best for us.

As a hair care expert, I am often asked about what the best tips are for healthy hair growth. While there are many factors that contribute to healthy hair growth, I have compiled a list of my top 13 tips that I think are essential for anyone looking to improve the health of their hair.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced hair care junkie, these tips will help improve your overall hair health and growth!

So without further ado, let's get started!

  1. Get regular trims

Many people believe that getting regular trims will make their hair grow faster, but this is not the case. However, getting rid of split ends is important for overall hair health and can prevent further damage that could lead to breakage.

  1. Use a gentle shampoo

When washing your hair, be sure to use a gentle shampoo as harshly stripping your hair can lead to breakage. Look for shampoos with natural ingredients that will be gentle on your strands.

  1. Don’t over wash

Washing your hair too frequently can also strip it of its natural oils and lead to breakage. Aim to wash your hair every 2-3 days or less if possible.

  1. Condition, condition, condition

Conditioner is essential for hydrated and healthy strands. Be sure to use a conditioner every time you shampoo and leave it in for 3-5 minutes before rinsing out.

  1. Deep condition regularly

In addition to using a standard conditioner, deep conditioning once a week can work wonders for dry and damaged hair. Look for masks or deep conditioners with natural ingredients such as coconut oil or shea butter.

  1. Practice Routine Oil Massaging your Scalp

One of the most popular methods for stimulating hair growth is by massaging the scalp with oils. This practice has been used for centuries in many cultures and is still widely used today.

There are many different oils that can be used for this purpose, but some of the most commonly used include:

• Jojoba oil

• Olive oil

• Coconut oil

• Almond oil

There are many benefits to using these oils on the scalp. They can help to improve circulation, which is essential for healthy hair growth. Massaging the scalp with these oils can also help to loosen any dirt or debris that may be clogging the pores, which can also impede hair growth. In addition, these oils can help to nourish the scalp and hair follicles, which can promote healthy hair growth.

  1. Limit heat styling

Heat styling tools such as curling irons and straighteners can damage your hair if used too frequently. If you must style your hair with heat, be sure to use a heat protectant spray and keep the temperature set to low or medium.

  1. Let your hair air dry whenever possible

Air drying your hair is much gentler on your strands than blow drying it and will help prevent breakage. If you must blow dry your hair, be sure not to hold the dryer too close to your head and move it around frequently so that one spot does not get too hot.

  1. Handle wet hair carefully

Wet hair is much more fragile than dry hair and is more susceptible to breakage. Be sure not to brush wet hair too forcefully and always use a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush if possible. Start from the bottom and work your way up slowly until all knots are gone.

  1. Protect your strands at night

Sleeping with your wet hair wrapped up in a bun or braid can cause breakage because of the friction between your hair and pillowcase . To prevent this, sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase which will cause less friction than cotton pillowcases . You can also invest in a silk or satin scarf or bonnet to wear at night .

  1. Eat healthy

Eating nutritious foods helps promote overall health, including scalp health. Be sure to eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats as they will all contribute to healthy hair growth.

  1. Drink lots of water

Drinking enough water helps keep your strands hydrated which prevents them from becoming brittle and breaking. Shoot for at least 8 glasses of water per day.

  1. Take vitamins

There are certain vitamins that are essential for healthy hair growth such as biotin , iron , vitamin C , and vitamin D. You can either take supplements or eat foods that are high in these vitamins such as dark leafy greens, eggs, salmon, nuts, seeds, and citrus fruits.

Following these 12 tips from a hair care expert will help you achieve healthier hair growth . Keep in mind that everyone ’s hair is different so what works for someone else may not work for you . Experiment with different products and routines until you find what works best for you!
